Kumarika hosted an awards ceremony for the grand prize winners of the Nekathata Thegi competition on the 17th May at Hemas.
The competition involved three games which incorporated elements from Kumarika's natural product line and was designed for the Avurudu season. The competition was conducted through facebook, where users had the option of playing one of three games – 'Rashi Chakraya' (designed according to the dawning of the new year, where participants had to place zodiac signs in the correct order), 'Questions of the hearth' (in which participants had to rapidly answer ten questions relating to Avurudu traditions) and 'Puzzled looks' (where a jigsaw puzzle had to be solved in record time). Winners were picked for each game according to the highest score. Dimuthu Udattawa walked away with the grand prize for 'Rashi Chakraya', while Deshani Bandara and Gimhani Samarakoon secured the grand prizes in 'Questions for the hearth' and 'Puzzled looks' respectively. 15 consolation prizes were also handed over at the awards ceremony.
