The “Sihina Niwasa” housing project of SLT Manpower Solutions (Pvt) Ltd

SLT Manpower Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC  was successful in completing its first house under the “Sihina Niwasa” housing project through its employee welfare society which shall be contributed to employee, Mr. A M Jayasundara at pugoda on the 01st of June 2012 at the auspicious hour. Mr. Nimal Ananda Athukorala, Hon. Ministry secretary of the telecommunication and information technology ministry attended the event as guest of honour. Several chief officers within the SLT group were also present at the event. The company also contributed the first piece of furniture to the house. A live telecast of the event was provided globally via the company website, www.manpower.lk.

Incepted in year 2008 and initiated with the objective of developing the mutual relationship and unity between members, while lending a helping hand towards the welfare of members through financial aid and participation, the employee welfare society of SLT Manpower solutions (Pvt) Ltd has by now organized many programmes beneficial to employees island-wide.

The chief executive officer of SLT Manpower Solutions, Mr. Ranjith. G. Rubasinghe at his welcome speech explained the motive of the project. He mentioned that the “Sihina Niwasa” project was initiated through an idea that was brought up in order to build a house on an annual basis for a selected natural disaster victim or needy employee, currently deprived of a house. Thus the name implies bringing about a dream come true for those whom owning a house were merely a dream.

This project also brought up the opportunity for all members of the society to work as a team and develop their unity, trust and mutual understanding while extending a helping hand towards developing the living conditions of fellow members and their families.
