Sampath Bank rewards loyal E Remitence Customers

Thirty six lucky winners collected cash awards totaling Rs 1,750,000 in the unique Sampath Cash Wasi promotion held during the month of April among beneficiaries of customers who remitted money via Sampath e-remittance from 1st to 30th April, 2012.

Claris Enos was the winner of the first prize of Rs 500,000.and five others won Rs 100,000 each. They were L Gayan Maduranga, D D A Siyaguna, Shanumganathan Jeevananthan, Y Sri Devi and R D Priyangika. The Final Grand draw was held in early May, 2012 with the participation of both officials from the Department of Revenue, Western Province and representatives of the management of the bank.

The promotion produced 30 daily winners too, each receiving a cash award of Rs 25,000. Interestingly, out of them, 6 winners were customers of other banks who received money via Sampath e-remittance service.

A Bank spokesman said that Sampath Cash Wasi was one of the key draws with huge cash rewards introduced by a bank in Sri Lanka for e-remittance customers to reward their loyalty.

e-remittances services offered by Sampath Bank is available across the world via 42 agent companies.

The spokesman added that the service is a big relief for the beneficiaries to get money quickly during an emergency. "You not only get the money in double quick time but get maximum security for the money transferred. The money sent through e-remittances can be withdrawn in many ways which are very fast and reliable", he said.

Sampath e-remittance services have been accepted as a quick and most reliable way to transfer money to Sri Lanka providing speed in the true sense, as the remitted money can be withdrawn over the counter in real time.

Any customer, from any part of the world can send money to his or her loved ones easily and at their convenience via Sampath E-remittance.

The beneficiary can withdraw the money remitted to his or her account over the counter from 209 Sampath branches  in the island  during normal banking hours, and Sampath Super Bank Branches in Kiribathgoda (from 8.00am-8.00pm) , Dharmapala Mawatha ( from 8.00am-10.00pm) and  Wellawaththa  (from 8.00am- 8.00pm ) during 365 days of the year including bank holidays, public holidays, etc..

Money remitted to other bank accounts via e-remittance can be withdrawn from more than 1600 ATMs linked island wide, at his or her convenience any time, any day of the year.  

While the customer does not have to incur any extra payment other than the usual commission charged, the beneficiary need not withdraw the full amount either from his or her bank account. Thus the money saved in the account will get an attractive interest thereby encouraging the savings habit.

Furthermore, if the customer has made available a mobile phone number of the beneficiary, an SMS alert will be sent no sooner the remitted money is updated in the account real time. This facility is made available free of charge.
