IFS Sri Lankan Operations celebrated their 16th anniversary at the Mount Lavinia Hotel recently. Inspired by Disney’s "Pirates of the Caribbean", the celebrations, complete with stunning pirate-themed décor, saw IFS staff and their families celebrate this milestone in the midst of sand, sea and treasure chests. The “movie trailer” created and produced by the IFS video team and portraying their very own Captain Jack Sparrow on a mission to secure an IFS treasure chest, gave the party a stellar kick-off, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and cutting of the “pirate ship” anniversary cake by Alastair Sorbie, President and CEO of IFS and Thomas Sald Vice President R&D. Among those who addressed the gathering were Alastair Sorbie, Ranil Rajapakse, Vice President and COO of IFS World Operations Sri Lanka and Jayantha De Silva Vice President, IFS South Asia.
The audience were entertained by the singing and dance prowess of their colleagues as several IFSers performed on a magnificent pirate ship stage. Following tradition, all those completing 10 years of service at IFS were presented with a token of appreciation. The festivities were elevated with several exciting competitions including a raffle draw and the selection of IFS King and Queen. After a sumptuous dinner by the sea, the party goers danced till dawn on the soft sand.
