Celebrate Oktoberfest 2017 at Colombo’s Entertainment Hub
Colombo, Monday 16th October 2017: The month of October not only brings with it the peak of the Autumn season, but also heralds in one of the most looked forward to events across the world. The history of Oktoberfest dates back to 19th century Bavaria, when it was first a celebration of the harvest.
All this and more will come alive at Colombo’s favourite entertainment hub Waters Edge from the 26th – 29th of October 2017. The revelries will commence from 6pm onwards on the 26th & 27th and 12 noon onwards on the 28th & 29th. In true Oktoberfest grandeur a Bavarian band will be specially flown in for the occasion while renowned local bands like the Slipping Chairs and Magic Box Mix-Up will also entertain crowds throughout the four days.
In addition to this, there will be several exciting and novel Oktoberfest games that will take place for the first time in Sri Lanka as well. A Virtual Reality Apple Hunt, Oktoberfest Cup Challenge, Oktoberfest Mug Slide, Oktoberfest Teufelsrad or the Devils Wheel will keep the crowds entertained for hours on end. There will also be the traditional “Bob the Apple” and Beer Pong competitions as well.
Authentic food inclusive of crispy Hendl (fried chicken), juicy Weisswurst (white sausage), soft Brezn (Bavarian pretzel), and Classic Haxn (Bavarian pork knuckle), must-have Sauerkraut and of course traditional desserts will be made available for purchase. Furthermore, the highlight of the festival will be a wide range of brew which will be made available to celebrate the true
spirit of Oktoberfest.

Entrance tickets are priced at Rs. 1000 per person inclusive of 2 beverages. Kids between the ages 12-6 will be half price inclusive of a soft drink and kids below the age of 6 will be FOC.
