Melheim Beach Hotel, Norochcholai, Kalpitiya is one of the most sought after luxury hotels in Kalpitiya which offers unparalleled luxury amidst a calm and tranquil environment just by the golden sands of Sri Lanka’s northwest coast. The hotel management recently announced that exciting discounts up to 50 per cent are on offer until 31 May for all credit and debit cards; which is sure to excite the eager travellers who are looking for an idyllic getaway to the beach.

The hotel’s Deluxe rooms offer both beach view and garden view, depending on the visitors’ preferences. Those who find the waves crashing onto the beach rhythmically and the view of the blue sea and the golden sands soothing can opt for the beach view while those who prefer relative tranquillity and overall greenery in their view can opt for the garden view. Regardless, the close proximity to the beach means that sinking ankle deep in wet sand and picking seashells on the each is only a few strolls away, irrespective of the room type one selects.

If the visitors find the afternoon too sunny for their liking, the best option would be to take a dip in the hotel’s swimming pool shaded by coconut trees. The faint sound of the waves in the vicinity and the tranquility in the hotel garden is sure to elevate the bliss one feels while doing laps in the pool.

The hotel’s large in-house restaurant not only offers scrumptious and tantalising cuisines but also a panoramic view of the pool, the beach and the sea beyond. The experienced kitchen staff is poised to prepare any speciality cuisines, be it English, French, Italian, Indian, Chinese or Indian. However, since Kalpitiya is popular for best and the freshest seafood; trying out the local seafood delicacies, which range from the ones that pack a spicy punch to the cold and mild, is much encouraged. The restaurant of the hotel has made quite the reputation for itself, evident by the considerable number of walk-in guests for meals.

In terms of things to do during while at Melheim Beach Hotel, the guests are sure to be spoiled for choice since there are just too many. Whale and dolphin watching off Kalpitiya, kite surfing, bird watching, visiting islands off the tip of Kalpitiya such as Baththalangunduwa, overnight camping in islands, stargazing and beach BBQs at night, scuba diving, kayaking through the mangroves, visiting popular beaches, visiting Kalpitiya Dutch Fort and Kalpitiya Dutch Reformed Church, Safari rides at Wilpattu to see the leopards and bears, visiting Kudiramalai Point and so many other tourist attractions to visit which are only a few minutes of drive away, the exploration opportunities for the guests are endless.

As the tourism is slowly but steadily picking up its pace in Sri Lanka following the Pandemic and the economic crisis, the industry is in need of facilities to cater to both local and foreign tourists’ needs. Investing in tourism hospitality such as a hotel is not only a profitable venture when done right but it also creates a myriad of job opportunities for the local crowd. Moreover, the careful selection of the place for the hotel enables Sri Lanka to put up just another sought-after tourist destination on the global tourism map.

This was exactly what went through the mind of Harin De Mel, a diversified entrepreneur, before he invested in leisure and hospitality sector with Melheim Resorts. The company owns three luxurious hotels, namely; Melheim Resort and Spa in Beragala, Haputale, Melheim Kandy Villas, and Melheim Beach Hotel in Norochcholai, Kalpitiya, and they offer the perfect beach, nature and culture experience for the tourists. The last of the three hotels, Melheim Beach Hotel, Norochcholai, Kalpitiya, has managed to create a unique touristic allure to the otherwise industrial-sounding Norochcholai area. According to De Mel, the hotel was the first star-class hotel in Norochcholai, Kalpitiya area when it was established and now, their lead is followed by many other investors which is good for not only the industry but also the community.

Melheim Beach Hotel possesses everything a typical holiday should contain; a boutique hotel in a tranquil environment, luxurious rooms, sun, the beaches, plenty of things to do and places to visit, and a restaurant capable of fulfilling any gastronomic need. It also adopts strict safety measures spelled out by the health authorities and follow international-level industry cleaning and disinfection practices to ensure health and safety of guests.
