In a heartfelt celebration of cultural and religious tradition, HUTCH Sri Lanka organized a unique Mal Dansela at the sacred Udamaluwa in Mihinthale, embracing the spiritual significance of the Poson Poya period. The initiative supported thousands of pilgrims as they paid homage at one of Buddhism’s most revered sites.
Over 30,000 flowers were respectfully distributed by HUTCH staff to devotees visiting the Mihinthale temple complex, enabling them to make offerings in observance of Poson. The gesture was warmly received by pilgrims, who appreciated the sincerity and reverence with which it was carried out.
The Poson festival, commemorating the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, draws tens of thousands of pilgrims to Mihinthale each year. By hosting the Mal Dansela during this sacred occasion, HUTCH honored a profound spiritual milestone while expressing deep respect for the island’s religious heritage.
The event also served as a meaningful opportunity for HUTCH employees to personally engage in a culturally significant act of giving. Their participation reflected a shared sense of purpose and highlighted the importance of serving with humility during sacred observances.
This devotional offering stands as a reflection of HUTCH’s enduring commitment to spiritual and cultural harmony and its support for traditions that unite communities in faith and gratitude.
