January 14th, 2023 – Colombo: The brand that is synonymous globally with Christmas and the holidays, Coca-Cola brought the holiday cheer to every home in Sri Lanka by offering its clear glass tumbler free with every Classic Coke and Sprite PET bottle of 1.5 or 2 litres, until stocks last.

On the occasion of the Christmas holidays, Coca-Cola Sri Lanka organized a number of activities for its consumers to get into the festive mood as they closed out the year. The Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan visited several locations across the Western province from 10th to 30thDecember bringing holiday cheer to thousands of consumers residing in Colombo as well as in the suburban areas from Moratuwa all the way up to Wennappuwa. Consumers took home exciting prizes and surprises by participating in fun activities such as the digital spin the wheel, and the “Share your wishes” giveaway, while a Virtual Reality (VR) gaming stall allowed them to immerse themselves in high-tech games.

In the season of giving, The Coca-Cola Foundation (TCCF) has also commenced the ‘Say We Care’ initiative, a country-wide drive to provide much-needed support to 6,000+ vulnerable Sri Lankan families struggling to survive due to the ongoing economic crisis. The initiative has already commenced distributing relief packs that will support these families for approximately two months among some of the hardest-hit communities in the most vulnerable parts across the island across nineteen locations in ten districts.

Coca-Cola has been a part of Christmas festivities globally for several decades. The 500g tin of Pelwatte Ghee that also debuted at the testing event is exclusive in quality and promises fresh farm produce deliciousness, it’s made from pure milk fat and fresh cream and has a typical rich aroma with a granular texture. Pelwatte Dairy’s freshly derived Golden Ghee is all forms of silkiness, packed with freshness and no-added preservatives, and it has 99.5g of Fat and 0.5g of Moisture.

The cheery film perfectly captures how Pepsi® is a drink for all seasons, especially the celebrations, and perfectly captures the joyous time of Christmas. Pepsi® has also introduced limited-edition festive-inspired PET bottles featuring the ultimate symbol of the Christmas, Santa Claus coupled with the brand’s irreverent SWAG.

The lively Pepsi® film starts with everyone’s favourite Santa Claus, dressed in a Pepsi® Cool attire, checking into the airport. Here the airport staff is stunned to learn about Santa’s unusual home, the classic North Pole. Observing the startled expressions, Santa uses his charm and magic to transport everyone to the enchanted wonderland through a Pepsi® bottle. The film ends with Santa Claus sipping Pepsi® from a limited-edition Christmas pack and making everyone rush to get one for themselves.

This is Pelwatte’s first dairy sales outlet in Kekirawa area and the 15th such outlet in its entire network.

A combined dairy collection and sales center of this nature saves collection time and costs which could then be passed down to our customers. We are already collecting 150,000 liters of milk per day from farmers and with this center, the collection amount could be increased and the process streamlined. The new collection center will strengthen our support to them even further. Wholesale and retail customers can purchase products from our full portfolio from this center.”

As the center combines both dairy raw material suppliers and market linkages in a hybrid operation, it is another step in Pelwatte’s vertical integration efforts so that its consumers are served with the best dairy portfolio in Sri Lanka.
