Monday 11th of November 2023. Sri Lanka: Pachchadi is a spicy pickle made from the banana flower. This dish is characteristic of Sri Lanka’s small but vibrant Colombo Chetty Community.

Our “Christmas Pachchadi” this year is a gala dinner with music for dancing and will be held at the Liberty Ballroom of the Ramada Hotel at Galle Face on Friday the 22nd of December.

After seven memorable “Christmas Pachchadi” events in the past, we are making arrangements well in time for the eighth so that community members and their friends from home and overseas may make plans to be present.

Founded in the year 1919, the primary goal of the Colombo Chetty Association of Sri Lanka is to foster fellowship amongst the community. The association organizes a variety of social, sporting and spiritual events allowing the members of the Community to meet periodically and remain in touch.
In addition, the Association reaches out to the disadvantaged and less fortunate among us, by way of

scholarships, food items, dry rations, health camps etc. The Association has community ties in the Western, Southern and Northwestern Provinces and is engaged in many social service activities

which benefit people of all ethnicities and religions.

At this year’s “Christmas Pachchadi” we will be entertained by “Black” – one of the best music bands in town. Tickets are only Rs 7500 and there will be prizes and surprises, dinner and dancing.

We are looking forward to seeing you!  (Contact Viran on 0777667377,  vfdopulle@hotmail.com).
