Sri Lanka’s first and fully digital banking experience, FriMi, marked yet another milestone by enabling contactless payments for parking in Kandy on the 20th of March 2021. The first-ever cashless parking service was facilitated through a partnership between the Kandy Municipal Council Car Park and Ex Lanka Pvt Ltd in efforts to promote the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s “රට පුරාම LANKAQR” initiative.
