Christell Luxury Wellness brought together clients, experts, and community voices recently, for a heartfelt and knowledge-packed evening titled “From Breakouts to Breakthroughs”, hosted exclusively for clients of the Christell Acne Lab. Held at the One Galle Face clinic, the event offered a unique blend of science, storytelling, and support, spotlighting Christell’s commitment to holistic, client-centred skincare.
The expert panel featured Dr. Shanika Arsecularatne, CEO & Medical Director of Christell Luxury Wellness, Dr. Pavithra De Seram, Head of Christell Acne Lab, Dr. Shashila De Silva, Acne Scar Specialist and Moderator by Dr. Haran Robinson, Acne Specialist.
The evening began with a personal note from Dr. Pavithra, who shared her own struggle with acne during her medical school years. She spoke candidly about the impact it had on her confidence and how Christell’s care transformed her journey, later inspiring her to join the very team that helped her heal. Clients echoed similar stories of resilience, sharing how acne affected their lives to the point they didn’t want to leave the house.
One of the most engaging segments of the evening was “Acne Myth Debunking,” where the panel tackled common misconceptions such as “men shouldn’t complain about acne” and “makeup always causes breakouts.” Drawing from clinical experience and scientific evidence, the panel reframed these myths while answering live questions from both attendees and the Instagram Live audience. The lively discussion began ahead of schedule, a testament to the audience’s eagerness for answers.
Other highlights included personalized skincare guidance, practical home-care strategies, and one-on-one time with the doctors during a relaxed networking session. The event created space not only for expert-led learning but also for meaningful peer connection.
Commenting on the significance of this initiative, Dr. Shanika Arsecularatne shared that acne prevention is more than skin deep. “We’ve seen time and again that what’s missing in acne care isn’t just another treatment. It’s a holistic, community-driven approach. Most people think of acne as a one-off problem, something a quick prescription or cream can fix. But acne is a chronic, lifestyle-related skin condition that reflects much more than just our skin. It’s often tied to diet, stress, sleep, and emotional health.”
“That’s why we created these events – to build a safe, collaborative space where we can co-create solutions, talk openly about challenges, and help people understand that real healing comes through long-term, lifestyle-focused care – not just quick fixes,” she said.
The newly launched Christell Acne Lab by Christell Luxury Wellness is a first-of-its-kind super-specialty clinic in Sri Lanka dedicated to advanced acne treatment.
At the core of the Acne Lab is Christell’s unique and proprietary 5-Step Pathway to Glow with Confidence™; a scientifically designed methodology that offers a personalized, holistic approach to acne care catering to a wide spectrum of concerns – promising its clients (of all ages and skin types) not just clear skin, but also a renewed sense of confidence.
This pathway is unique in that clients can avail of the Christell Acne Lab Buddy System, where they have additional access to exclusive resources, such as the Acne Community, workshops, and expert advice. It also involves a continuous care approach with customized follow-up plans showing the progress of clients’ results, and access to other specialists (nutritionists, gynecologists, psychologists, etc.) for holistic skincare management.
Due to the success of the event, Christell plans to host similar events in the future, using client experiences to shape more inclusive and supportive wellness journeys.
