Great Place to Work® Unveils the Best WorkplacesTM in IT/ITES Sector in Sri Lanka

Great Place to Work® in Sri Lanka recently organized a learning and networking event to honor the 10 Best WorkplacesTM in the IT/ITES industry. These workplaces were recognized for sustaining a consistently high employee experience across the organization. Great Place to Work® employs a rigorous methodology that evaluates workplace culture through employee feedback, and management practices to determine the Best Workplaces by merit. This evaluation is highly regarded, as it provides valuable insights for organizations to take action and improve workplace culture. As such, the recognition of being one of the 10 Best Workplaces in the IT/ITES industry significantly enhanced these organization’s reputation to attract top talent.

The event began with a welcome address by Kshanika Ratnayaka, Director and CEO of Great Place to Work® in Sri Lanka who emphasized the connection between employee well-being and business performance, and inspired attendees to prioritize the engagement and long-term productivity of their workforce.

Jehan Perinpanayagam, CEO of Infomate and Vice Chairman of SLASSCOM, delivered an enlightening keynote speech discussing the positive trends employed in the IT/BPM industry based on the SLASSCOM ”Best Practices in people management” findings. He highlighted the implementation of effective compensation strategies, facilitating remote working options and growing the female representation in the IT/BPM industry in order better attract and retain talent.

Great Place to Work in Sri Lanka’s Head of Consulting, Kaneru Godagama, and Senior Relationship Manager, Isurika Bandara presented highlights from the study on IT/ITES Industry Workplace Culture. They compared the data with regional and global benchmarks, offering valuable insights into areas of focus that drive a High-Trust High-PerformanceTM culture.

This was followed by the 10 Best Workplaces in the Sri Lankan IT/ITES industry being felicitated for their exceptional efforts. The awarded organizations included 99x, Ascentic, BISTEC Global, BoardPAC, ITX360, JRC Software, LOOP1, Synergen Health, Synergen Technology Labs, and Virtusa.

Another highlight of the event was the exclusive fireside chat with key functional leaders at Virtusa Sri Lanka. The panelists included Shehan Warusavithana, Senior Vice President Technology; Sampath Thrimavithana, Director of HR; and Dinoo De Mel, Senior Director of Finance. The discussion, skillfully moderated by Great Place to Work in Sri Lanka’s Assessment Business Head, Ruwani Alwishewa, centered around best practices and strategies adopted by Virtusa to successfully maneuver through recent times of change and shape their organizational culture.

The event overall highlighted the transformative impact of a positive work culture and emphasized the ongoing commitment required to build and sustain great workplaces. By investing in employee engagement, the recognized organizations showcased how they had unleashed the untapped potential of their workforce and driven success in the IT/ITES industry during challenging times.
