Hemas Hospitals, the first and only hospital chain in Sri Lanka to have been accredited from the Australian Council on Health Standards (ACHSI), the gold standard in quality and patient safety globally, announced the launch of LiveTrack, a first-of-its-kind digital platform for tracking patient appointments.

Available as a progressive Web app, LiveTrack will enable patients to track the status of an appointment made with any consultant at Hemas Hospitals.

“Across the world, digital healthcare is gathering enormous momentum due to its convenience, accessibility and potential to save patients time, cost and effort. As a frontrunner in the country’s healthcare industry, we are committed to deliver services and facilities to our valued customers and patients in line with global healthcare sector benchmarks to enhance patient experience.

“We are quite excited with this innovation as it will address a major pain point of our precious patients which is long waiting time to see a specialist doctor. Live Track is another patient centric initiative by Hemas that will provide immense convenience to     patients and will also be a crucial milestone along our digital journey towards becoming the first smart hospital chain in Sri Lanka,” Hemas Hospitals managing Director Dr. Lakith Peiris said.

Patients can make appointments at Hemas Hospitals through several modes such as calling Hemas Hospitals hotline 0117 888 888, by visiting either Hemas Hospital or one of its 43 laboratories spread across the country in addition to its other digital platforms such as the Hemas Health mobile app and the website apart from the traditional Doc 990 and echanelling

Once an appointment is made, patients will receive a SMS inclusive of a web link, which will provide details relating to the doctor’s Expected Time of Arrival (ETA), the start of consultations, the number of consultations available for the day and the number of the ongoing consultation.

“Hemas Hospitals hopes to enhance the digital experience of patients and lead the way in providing hassle-free, cost effective access to health services through effective digital platforms such as LiveTrack and other digital platforms and cutting edge technology. The Live track service will ensure that patients don’t have to wait in line for hours for their consultation. Our patients will be empowered to estimate the time that they should come to the hospital to see their preferred doctor. The platform provides Hemas with a seamless connection to our patients and ensures the utmost convenience for them whenever they need to visit us.”

LiveTrack is developed by Arogya Live System’s AI team in collaboration with Hemas Hospitals over the past one and a half years with a view to transforming operations at the hospital towards a smarter digital ecosystem that will elevate staff and patient experience to greater heights and also push down healthcare costs and to make private healthcare affordable to larger cross section of the society.
