Hemas opens 62nd Piyawara Pre-school in Wanathamulla

Piyawara 3 (LBN)

Hemas Outreach Foundation recently opened its 62nd Piyawara pre-school in Wanathamulla, Colombo. Together with the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs as a strategic partner of the Piyawara initiative, this development represents Hemas’ continued support of the national agenda in developing Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) in the country.

The pre-school, which marks the first Piyawara school to be opened in the Colombo district, was handed over to the Colombo Municipal Council, who will ensure the smooth operation of the preschool.

Aligning with Hemas’ efforts to create an inclusive world where no child is left behind, the Piyawara pre-school in Wanathamulla will serve 50 children from an underserved community, providing a safe, nurturing and high-quality early learning environment.

With the commitment of ensuring that every child in Wanathamulla has access to an all important early childhood care and development center, Hemas together with its partners who assist the organisation in promoting early childhood learning, have designed the school to be a stimulating and inclusive space where children can learn, play, and grow in a supportive environment.
