Sri Lanka’s leading integrated financial services provider, HNB FINANCE PLC celebrated the Vesak season on May 9 with a series of religious and cultural activities under the theme “HNB FINANCE Vesak Sirisara.” Prioritizing traditional offerings, this initiative was hosted in front of the HNB FINANCE head office located in Nawala. The event featured devotional song recitals (bakhti gee) led by staff members from the Nawala and Borella branches, including the Vesak lantern, and a Dansala serving seeni sambol buns for devotees. The premises were decorated to reflect the spirit of the season.
The inauguration of “HNB FINANCE Vesak Sirisara” was held under the patronage of Mr. Chaminda Prabhath, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HNB FINANCE. In celebration of the sacred Vesak season, the Company organized a Vesak lantern and greeting card competition across all its branches islandwide. Further, a choir comprised of company staff performed the Vesak devotional singing, and the entire event was streamed live via the Company’s official Facebook page, enabling a wider audience to join in the celebration.
Commenting on the initiative, Chaminda Prabhath, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HNB FINANCE, stated:
“The primary objective of ‘Vesak Sirisara’ is to inspire thoughts of devotion in the hearts of the people while encouraging our team at HNB FINANCE to come together in unity to engage in offerings and spiritually enriching, creative activities. In line with this goal, we encouraged our staff to prioritise both material and spiritual offerings in celebration of Vesak. Going forward, we intend to further enrich the ‘Vesak Sirisara’ initiative with new and diverse elements, while continuing to highlight the significance of offering alms in the years to come”.
