Backed by its global objective of aiding private and public organizations to build trust in society and solve important problems, PwC Sri Lanka will participate in this year’s Sri Lanka Investment Forum (SLIF) to offer its business expertise and opportunities to participants at a three-day virtual event to be held from 7 to 9 June.

As Asia’s first and largest virtual Investor Forum to present the FDI and Capital Market opportunities in Sri Lanka, PwC will share its knowledge on attractive investment opportunities in Sri Lanka across FDIs into public and private sector projects, private equity placements, investment in listed corporates and infrastructure projects. Priority sectors focused on include Manufacturing, Information Technology, Hospitality & Tourism, Agriculture & Food processing, Financial services, Construction, Power and Energy, Infrastructure and Logistics.   PwC will also be looking forward to having one-on-one discussions with prospective investors to share the firm’s experience and insight on these industries and address any investment or market entry inquiries.

Mr. Aruna Perera

Featuring sessions and presentations by senior government leaders, C-suite of public and private companies, global experts, investment bankers, and advisory firms, the Forum is expected to attract several direct and portfolio investors including sovereign wealth funds, private equity funds, development finance institutions, large multinational corporates and conglomerates, high net worth individuals and a host of other investors from across the world.

The Forum will also enable the sharing of best practices and resources with fellow attendees and speakers and help to tap potential to build traction around emerging investor opportunities within organizations and projects and provide the opportunity to develop a sectoral view on policies and regulations in a bid to garner foreign investments, as well as network and engage with global investors and speakers across diverse industries.

“This is a very useful and much needed platform that enables participants to connect and build synergies. It helps to create an understanding of investor needs and match these with business solutions that will set them up for future growth. We’re excited to be a part of this year’s event,” said Sujeewa Mudalige, Chief Executive Officer of PwC Sri Lanka.

Mr . Lasanga Abeysuriya

In the absence of travel to physically meet global investors or engage in roadshows or marketing campaigns, we believe this sort of forum will help showcase opportunities available in Sri Lanka to foreign investors during these challenging times,” explained  Aruna Perera , Director – Corporate Finance, Valuation Consulting and Real Estate Advisory, PwC Sri Lanka.

Lasanga Abeysuriya, Executive Director – Head of Strategy Consulting, PwC Sri Lanka added “Recent global developments have forced global investors and corporates to have a fresh and strategic rethink of how organizations need to diversify their investment pools, manage the operating footprint and reassess distributed global supply chain locations.  There is a surge of investors seeking value and growth investments. Sri Lanka offers opportunities for all these and more. This Investment Forum therefore presents an excellent opportunity for those from rest of the world, to understand how Sri Lanka can be part of their strategic global footprint.”

Overall, the aim of the event is to provide the country’s government agencies, state-owned enterprises and industry leaders along with advisory firms and investment banks with a platform to advocate compelling investment propositions for global investors.
