RE-MAX-Enters

The world’s No.1 real estate brand RE/MAX made its foray into the booming Eastern Coast Property market in Sri Lanka at an event that was held in Trincomalee today. The event was graced by RE/MAX Director – Global Development (South East Asia) Cheryl Luster, RE/MAX Executive Director – Global Development Jan Repa, Co-Owners of RE/MAX Harbourside Muralitharan Ganeshan and Jeya Saam, RE/MAX Sri Lanka staff, property developers, and the business community in the East Coast. RE/MAX Harbourside will be the premier real estate brand in the East Coast.

RE/MAX Director – Global Development (South East Asia) Cheryl Luster speaking at the ceremony said “I have been with RE/MAX Head Office for 12 years and with the company for 28 years now and watched people build successful businesses which is essentially what we do. We have identified Asia as a growing market and it’s definitely a prime market. We have presence in South America, Europe, Africa and Asia is our new target. We hope to bring professionalism to the property market in Sri Lanka and hope to see licensee regulations and more transparency in the industry. Our aim is to make agents in to entrepreneurs and help them build businesses. The RE in our name stand for Real Estate and the MAX denotes Maximum, so the end goal is to bring in a maximum commission model to the real estate agent business in any country that we operate in.”

Speaking at the event RE/MAX Executive Director – Global Development Jan Repa noted, “We offer local real estate entrepreneurs the opportunity to run successful businesses. When we enter a country the first thing we do is train our agents. At RE/MAX we believe that the more our agents learn the better they become so we put a lot of emphasis on learning. We have the RE/MAX University which is an online platform that anyone can access from the comfort of their home or office. We also make visits to our country offices to continuously train agents and even on this visit have spent entire days with agents, broker-owners and other stakeholders. We had an annual convention in Las Vegas and over 6,000 agents from around the world participated and in August this year we will also have our South Asia meeting in New Delhi.”

As a renowned real estate brand globally, a RE/MAX real estate agent sells a property every 30 seconds and comes with comprehensive training programmes, tools and technology required for a start-up agent or an existing business. More than 125,000 agents spanning 110 countries have created a network of professional real estate agents. With 46 years of global experience, RE/MAX entered Sri Lanka in (enter year here) and has since then become a formidable force in the booming real estate industry.

Speaking at the launch RE/MAX Harbourside’s Co-Owner Muralitharan Ganeshan noted, “Although I am originally from the North of Sri Lanka, we found Trincomalee to be a more lucrative property market. The East Coast itself has more tourist appeal with its surf-friendly beaches, whale and dolphin watching expeditions and a myriad of activities. We also see the potential for Trincomalee itself being a strategic harbor town in the country.”

RE/MAX hopes to create a positive impact on the booming property market in Tricomalee and is headed by the Ganeshan and Jeya who also boast extensive experience in property-related businesses. Co-Owner Jeya Saam is a Gold Club Realtor (Licensed Realtor) of RE/MAX Royal Properties in Canada and has been in the RE/MAX family for more than 5 years. Muralitharan himself is an Interior Contractor and Consultant for more than 15 years with sound knowledge of the property market trends and the client’s requirements.

RE/MAX Harbourside will be hiring new and established real estate agents and/or companies to join their network of strong, independent, highly-skilled and dedicated team. For more information please contact 0779 168904.
