SLMA to launch a lifetime rewards and recognition scheme for frontline healthcare staff partners with CH17 Loyalty

Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), the apex national medical professional body will launch a program to recognise and reward its members who have been in the frontline battling the COVID 19 epidemic, which is now rampant worldwide, its President Professor Indika Karunathilake announced today.

“The commitment and dedication of health professionals in controlling this pandemic need to be appreciated” President of SLMA added

The COVID-19 pandemic has been unprecedented in the history of mankind, sparing none be it nationality, race, religion, the rich and the poor alike. The world’s economy has virtually come to a grinding halt, it appears that we need to adapt to a new norm for this threat is likely to stay with us for a long time to come” he added.

Therefore, our health professionals have a tremendous responsibility on their shoulders to contain its spread among the people, minimize fatalities and prevent any resurgence of the disease, he pointed out.

The SLMA’s program titled CARE acronym for COVID-Appreciation Respecting Engagement are the steps the health care providers will be taking for this long term engagement, Prof Karunathilake emphasized.
