This virtual walkathon is designed to encourage individuals asking the right questions about Diabetes. Diabetes one of the most debilitating yet preventable NCDs today in Sri Lanka, is a serious illness that many people are unaware they may have or at risk of being diagnosed with. According to studies conducted in the recent past 1 of 12 adults suffer from diabetes in Sri Lanka and childhood diabetes is on the rise, the main cause for the rise in numbers are static and unhealthy lifestyles maintained by individuals The good news is that the large majority of type 2 diabetes is preventable, simply by adopting a healthy life style.
