Warna 2025 to Illuminate Colombo’s Creative Scene at Havelock City Mall

Warna 2025

Warna 2025 – A Festival of Arts will take place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May 2025, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, at the Ground Floor Atrium of Havelock City Mall. Admission is free, offering art lovers, collectors, and the general public an open invitation to experience one of the country’s most anticipated cultural festivals.

Bringing together over 80 artists and featuring more than 1,000 masterpieces — including bold contemporary creations and timeless classics — Warna 2025 promises a sweeping celebration of Sri Lankan artistry. Curated by Professor Susiripala Malimbada, former Dean of the University of Visual and Performing Arts, the event serves as a powerful platform for both emerging creators and established visionaries.

Among the legendary names on display are Prof. Susiripala Malimbada, Prof. Albert Dharmasiri, Iromie Wijewardena, S.H. Sarath, Ananda Somathilake, Rubert Zoysa, Seevali Illangasinghe, and Upali Herath. Their masterpieces will be showcased alongside a rising generation of artists who are pushing the boundaries of visual expression in Sri Lanka.

More than an exhibition, Warna 2025 is a cultural initiative that aims to support local talent, encourage artistic dialogue, and bring the community together through creativity. Organisers expect over 40,000 visitors throughout the weekend, making it a major opportunity for artists to connect with collectors, buyers, and enthusiasts.

Themed “Cultural Fusion: Tradition Meets Modernity,” the festival will transform Havelock City Mall into a living gallery. Visitors can engage with interactive installations, watch live painting sessions, and enjoy performances by musicians including violinists, pianists, and saxophonists—blurring the lines between visual and performing arts.

Hosted by Havelock City Mall – My Happy Place – the event reflects the venue’s ongoing commitment to nurturing art and culture in everyday public spaces.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector, a curious visitor, or simply someone in search of inspiration, Warna 2025 invites you to experience the evolving heartbeat of Sri Lankan art.
