Recruiters often face new challenges when seeking fresh talent. Having been in the recruitment field as a trend-setting startup since 2015, XpressJobs has sought out ways to overcome these challenges. With existing solutions such as online filtering, CV-less applications, target based social media advertising and call for interviews via SMS, XpressJobs constantly communicates with employers to fill gaps in their recruitment process.

Inefficiencies in recruitment

A recent complication in recruitment, according to XpressJobs is that even with plenty of talented applicants submitting their CV’s and an attractive work culture and remuneration already established, companies find it difficult to fill in vacancies. Some vacancies require that candidates face an initial screening, usually through a test—English, mathematics, IT or IQ. However, this process of calling for applications, screening them, sitting for the exam, further shortlisting from the results and calling for a second interview could take up to a month depending on the company. By this time, many job seekers find other jobs and are not available for the position and the company’s workforce suffers a loss because of this.

Online tests for candidates

With efficiency in mind, XpressJobs stepped into fine-tune the process with an online test that is customised according to the job. With this, applicants need only sit for a timed online test after the initial online screening and visit the company only once for the final interview, thereby reducing the time spent by both recruiter as well as candidate. Recruiters have shown great interest in absorbing this feature to their recruiting process to save time for both candidate and the recruiter, while finding the the ideal match. Banking and IT companies have especially found it efficient and convenient to post banking exams as well as analytical tests.

With 2270 companies using its portfolio of features, XpressJobs is among the top 75 websites browsed by Sri Lankans, and one of the Top Ten startups on startupranking.com. XpressJobs also won the National Award for Business and Commerce by e-Swabhimani by ICTA Sri Lanka in November last year.
