Puttalam District Badminton Association, in affiliation with Sri Lanka Badminton, has started accepting applications for the Puttalam District Open Badminton Championships. Scheduled to take place at the Sir Alfred F. Peiris Indoor Courts in Wennappuwa from June 1 to 7, this prestigious tournament serves as a second-level ranking event.
The championships features a range of categories including Junior, Senior, Over 110 Combined Age Group, Open, and plate categories, while the senior catyegory will see shuttlers in action in singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories. The participants can compete in Women’s and Men’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches in Open and 110+ combined age category.
Generously sponsored by McFoil, Mobil, Li Ning, 3M, and GAC, the Puttalam District Open offers significant rewards including cash prizes totaling Rs.500,000, along with medals and certificates for the winners.
