Colombo, 02 Jun 2025 – MillenniumIT ESP, in partnership with Cisco and Inflow Technologies, recently hosted a specialised event titled “Trust. Protect. Secure. – Redefined Security for BFSI” at Studio Hall, Cinnamon Life. The event brought together senior IT and cybersecurity leaders from Sri Lanka’s foremost public and private financial institutions for an exclusive exploration of Cisco’s latest advancements in cybersecurity.

With nearly 40 professionals representing the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector in attendance, the session focused on how Cisco’s integrated platforms—Email Security, Secure Access, and Secure Networking—are setting new standards in cyber resilience.

The agenda featured live demonstrations, in-depth technical sessions, and valuable networking opportunities. Cisco’s cybersecurity experts led discussions on secure email communications, zero-trust access across networks and devices, and achieving end-to-end visibility and control across infrastructures.

The event was opened by Sridharan Govindaraj, Associate Vice President – Network & Cybersecurity at MillenniumIT ESP, who welcomed guests and outlined the organisation’s services and the strategic importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape.

Ashish Sud, Regional Leader – Cybersecurity at Cisco, delivered the keynote address virtually, offering a strategic perspective on Cisco’s cybersecurity vision and the evolving threat landscape. This was followed by a detailed session on Email Security by Piush Kumar, Technical Solutions Architect at Cisco, and a presentation on Cisco Secure Access by Sandalika Weerasuriya, Associate Consultant – Network Solutions at MillenniumIT ESP.

Shevan Goonetilleke, CEO of MillenniumIT ESP, remarked:

“The BFSI sector operates in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment, where reliability and strong security practices are essential to maintain trust and continuity. This event was more than a showcase—it was a call to action. Together with Cisco and Inflow Technologies, we’re delivering enterprise-grade cybersecurity to ensure Sri Lankan financial institutions are resilient, agile, and ready for the future.”

Nilanthi Fernando, Country Manager – Sri Lanka & Maldives at Inflow Technologies, added:

“As a value-added distributor, our role is to make cutting-edge solutions accessible and actionable. Events like this allow us to bring cybersecurity to life—showcasing how the right partnerships can turn strategy into real-world impact.”

Sajeewa Sapumal, Country Manager – Sri Lanka & Maldives at Cisco, concluded

“Our mission at Cisco is to simplify security without compromising strength. We’re proud to work with MillenniumIT ESP and Inflow Technologies to help BFSI leaders in Sri Lanka embrace a zero-trust future.”

As digital threats grow in scale and sophistication, “Trust. Protect. Secure.” served as a critical platform for driving collaboration, sparking dialogue, and equipping financial institutions with the knowledge and solutions needed to build robust, future-ready cyber defences.
