Ritzbury, Sri Lanka’s favourite chocolate brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), is empowering the much-anticipated ‘Ritzbury Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival 2022’ for the 2nd consecutive year. This initiative is an extension of the local brand’s commitment to support the skills development of the nation’s budding sports talent pool.

Taking place for the 12th consecutive year, this year’s Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival will see a total of 112 teams from 23 schools participating in Under 10 and Under 12 categories. The first three rounds of the carnival were already held at the Royal College Sports Complex and will be followed by on the 02nd October, respectively.

It is noteworthy that the carnival aims to develop the game of rugby and create opportunities for up-and-coming ruggerites to showcase their skills in a fun and competitive environment. As an encouragement to all players to participate in a sport that epitomises hard work, dedication and true sportsmanship, the carnival does not declare a champion.

Speaking on Ritzbury’s contribution towards Rugby carnival, Nilupul de Silva, General Manager Marketing – CBL Foods International said, “Hosting this event is yet another step in our journey of nurturing the next generation of sportsmen in Sri Lanka. Ritzbury has always remained committed towards developing sports among the very capable youth of our nation. It gives us great pride to be able to host the Ritzbury Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival 2022 and we encourage all teams to bring out their best on the field!”

Commenting about the event, Shahid Sangani, Secretary – Organising Committee said, “The Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival is proud to partner up with Ritzbury for the 2nd consecutive year and we believe that this partnership would uplift the junior Rugby talent in Sri Lanka. This year we have a total of 112 teams taking part in the carnival with the representation of 23 different schools, marking a huge success for this event”.

Given that rugby is a popular sport in Sri Lanka with high spectator engagement, Ritzbury is confident that its position as a market leader in the Sri Lankan chocolate industry will ensure a successful and exciting event this year as well.

In addition to rugby, Ritzbury is known as an active supporter of a wide range of sporting events in Sri Lanka including the Ritzbury Sir John Tarbet Athletics Championship, Vidudaya Ritzbury Swimming Championship, Ritzbury Junior National Squash Championship, and the SLTA Tennis Tens All Island School Kids Tennis Play Day.
