Emirates is taking its signature A380 experience to the next level with the unveil of a brand new Premium Economy cabin product, together with enhancements and a refreshed look across all cabins onboard its newest A380 aircraft.

Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline said: “The Emirates A380 is already one of the most sought-after travel experiences in the skies, and now we’ve made it even better. While others cut back, Emirates is working hard to restore the products and services that we’ve had to suspend or adjust due to pandemic precautions, and introduce new offerings and enhancements. True to our fly better promise, Emirates continues to invest to offer our customers the best possible experience.”

The airline received its newest A380 aircraft from Airbus’ Hamburg facility last week, and its remaining order of 5 A380s will also be delivered with premium economy cabins over 2021 and 2022. Emirates’ premium economy seats will also be installed on some of its Boeing 777X aircraft which are only due to join the fleet in 2023. Emirates is considering plans to retrofit its existing A380 fleet.

Commenting on Emirates’ premium economy cabins, Sir Tim said: “Our Premium Economy product was carefully developed in keeping with Emirates’ brand positioning as a full-service airline of the highest quality. Our First, Business and Economy experiences reset industry standards when they were introduced, and we are confident that our Premium Economy will also make its mark as a distinct premium offering. Until we have a viable number of seats in our inventory to bring to market, we plan to offer the Emirates Premium Economy experience as a complimentary upgrade to valued customers. We’ll also deploy our newest A380 aircraft on various routes so that our customers can experience our latest offering in all classes.”

Emirates will announce details of where its A380 aircraft with Premium Economy will be deployed in the coming weeks.

New service to be operated by Emirates’ iconic A380 aircraft from 25 March 2018

Emirates is set to introduce a fourth daily service from Dubai to Sydney from 25 March 2018, complementing its existing three daily A380 services and improving connections globally.

The new service will be operated by Emirates’ iconic A380 aircraft and will increase passenger capacity on the route by 6,846 seats a week, inbound and outbound between Sydney and Emirates’ hub in Dubai, and represents a 7.3% increase in capacity for Emirates’ Australian services.

The move will provide passengers travelling from Europe and North Africa greater connectivity to Australia. It also builds on Emirates’ partnership with Qantas, meeting continued demand for services to Dubai and complementing Qantas’ re-routing of its current Sydney to London service via Singapore (instead of Dubai).

Emirates’ new service will offer passengers an afternoon departure from Sydney and a convenient arrival in main European cities the following morning. It also introduces a new option for passengers to depart London and main European cities in the morning with an afternoon arrival in Sydney the next day with a short connection in Dubai.

Emirates customers will also be able to enjoy seamless “A380 to A380” connections to 48 destinations within Emirates’ global network via its hub in Dubai.

Earlier this year Emirates announced plans to enhance its Australian services, with a third daily service set to be introduced between Dubai and Brisbane from 1 December 2017 and operated by a B777-200LR. Emirates will also upgauge its third daily flight between Dubai and Melbourne from a B777-300ER to an A380 from 25 March 2018. This change will ensure all three of Emirates’ daily flights to Melbourne will be serviced by A380 aircraft.

All passengers can enjoy over 2,500 channels on Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system ice, gourmet food and wine across all classes and generous baggage allowances. Emirates recently improved its onboard connectivity with up to 20MB of complementary onboard Wi-Fi.

Between 25 March and 30 March 2018, the inbound service EK416 will depart Dubai at 20:40, arriving in Sydney at 17:20 the following day. Due to daylight savings from 31 March 2018, the arrival time changes to 16:30 the following day.

Between 26 March to 31 March 2018, the outbound service EK417 will depart Sydney at 17:05, arriving in Dubai at 00:25 the following day. Due to daylight savings from 1 April, the outbound service EK417 will depart Sydney 16:15, arriving the same time the following day. All services will be operated by an A380 aircraft.

The A380 aircraft offers 489 seats in a three-class cabin configuration with 14 private suites in First Class, 76 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 399 spacious seats in Economy.

Emirates currently operates 77 weekly flights from Dubai to Australia, with flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. The third daily service to Brisbane and fourth daily service to Sydney will bring this to 91 weekly flights.

Almost a month to the day it operated the first ever commercial A380 flight to Sri Lanka, Emirates is offering travellers from Colombo a chance to celebrate the forthcoming delivery of its 100th A380 with special fares to destinations across the airline’s global network.

A series of unbeatable value-for-money fares ending with the digits 380 has been unveiled by the global connector of people and places for travellers from Colombo, covering all classes of travel to Europe, USA, Africa, the Middle East, Australasia and the Far East.

Fares begin at Rs 33,380, Rs 70,380 and Rs 226,380 inclusive of taxes for Economy Class, Business Class and First Class respectively under this exciting new promotion by the award-winning airline, and represent substantial savings on standard fares.

These special fares are available for booking from 12th to 22nd September 2017, and are valid for travel from 15th September to 7th December 2017, the airline said.

“Emirates is the largest operator of the iconic A380 aircraft, and taking delivery of our 100th A380 is a milestone worthy of celebration,” said Chandana de Silva, Emirates Area Manager Sri Lanka & Maldives. “We currently operate A380 flights to 48 destinations, enabling Sri Lankans to experience the ultimate in features and passenger comfort when they travel beyond Dubai.”

On the Emirates A380, First Class passengers can relax in one of 14 flat-bed, massage-equipped Private Suites; the cabin also has two exquisitely designed onboard Shower Spas, ensuring a revitalised and refreshed arrival. For First and Business Class passengers the on-board lounge is the social highlight, featuring a fully-stocked bar and a selection of hot and cold canapés. Business Class passengers can relax in seats that convert to flat beds up to 87 inches (two metres) long, whilst those travelling in Economy Class can stretch out in seats with a pitch of up to 33 inches.

As Emirates celebrates its 100th A380 purchase, a new Onboard Lounge design has been unveiled for the aircraft. Inspired by private yacht cabins, the new lounge features a more intimate and social area. With a clientele made up of Business and First Class customers on board the A380, the exclusive lounge accommodates 26 guests and serves the finest wines from around the world. The six wines on offer differ by destination but a champagne offering of Moët & Chandon or Veuve Clicquot is always available.

Each seating area in the new lounge will have a table and window view. The lounge will feature an airier look and feel, with lighter champagne colours used in the cabin and lounge seating areas, accented by a glossy dark wood trim. The lounge will also introduce soundproof curtains to partition the Onboard Lounge area from the other cabins, as well in additional soft ambient lighting options, new window blinds with integrated LED mood lighting, and subwoofers for surround sound.

In service for nine years, the Emirates A380 remains the most talked-about passenger aircraft in the world today. Since 2008, Emirates has flown over 80 million passengers on its A380 fleet.

All passengers on Emirates flights enjoy more than 2,500 free channels of films, TV shows, music, games and podcasts through ice Digital Widescreen, the airline’s multi-award winning in-flight entertainment system, inflight Wi-Fi throughout all aircraft, regionally inspired gourmet cuisine and Emirates’ renowned inflight service from the airline’s multi-national cabin crew comprised of over 135 nationalities,

Emirates commenced operations to Sri Lanka in April 1986 and operates a total of 34 flights a week from Colombo — 27 flights westward to Malé and Dubai and seven eastward to Singapore connecting onwards to Melbourne, Australia.
